2018 Dodge Durango Bring More SRT Style

Dodge calls the new Durango SRT “America’s fastest, most powerful, and most capable three-row SUV.” Given the hardware installed beneath its slab-sided, refrigerator white bodywork, coupled with performance statistics certified by the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA), that sounds like a credible claim.
While the SRT’s bulging hood scoop and dual air vents won’t pump the Pentastar 3.6-liter past the stock 295-hp mark, it is the same hood that covers a 475-hp V-8. On the GT, you’ll need to order the Blacktop or Brass Monkey package to snag that hood as an additional option.
The mid-level Durango R/T with the 360-hp 5.7-liter V-8 now gets the SRT’s hood as standard equipment along with that model’s slotted front fascia, functional cold-air intake, and LED fog lights.

Exterior Features
With no more than a glance, it is easy to see that the Durango SRT is no ordinary SUV. Up front, new styling supplies the necessary cold air intakes and heat extractors that help the monstrous Hemi motor to perform at its best. The entire front fascia is new and includes a mesh pattern grille as well as LED fog lights. The hood contains no fewer than three scoops and vents for freer breathing.
The Durango sits on 20-in. aluminum wheels wrapped in 295/45 Z-rated all-season performance tires. Summer tires are optional, as is a set of lightweight forged aluminum wheels. Regardless of wheel selection, they’re finished in “Black Noise.”

Front and rear fender flares help to cover the wide rubber, connected by substantial rocker panel extensions. The Durango SRT proudly wears “392” badges on each front fender. Around back, a revised rear fascia includes a black valence panel punctured by 4-in. round exhaust outlets finished in nickel chrome.

Interior Features
Sitting at the top of the Durango trim level tree, the SRT is nicely outfitted with standard Nappa leather upholstery with Dinamica simulated suede inserts. Front seats are heated and ventilated, and the second-row captain’s chairs are also heated.

Dinamica also covers the windshield pillars and headliner, and the driver faces a flat-bottom SRT performance steering wheel equipped with paddle shifters. A hand-wrapped dashboard is standard, featuring exposed contrast stitching. Feet rest upon premium velour floor mats embroidered with “SRT.” The instrument panel includes a 7-in. digital gauge cluster with a 180-mph speedometer and is finished in Light Black Chrome and Matte Reverse Chain trim.
